It was only a year or two ago that I went shore fishing and got a handful of clams to cook later that day. We left them alone for a while in a bit of water and when I came back I saw them out of their shell and strolling about the recipient and it was WILD to discover their real bodies, their real "lifestyle" when not being hunted for, and not having to hide away!
I'm not someone who grew up near the sea so I'm still discovering a lot :) and finding out that something you like eating is "more" alive than you originally thought is always humbling to me!
Also, their shells are very pretty with all sorts of cool different designs.
